10th GP Anicolor
A special edition
May 06, 2026
Between May 1 and 3, 2026, the Anicolor Grand Prix once again took to the region’s roads, bringing together 105 riders from 15 teams representing five nationalities in a competition distinguished by its high sporting level and growing national and international recognition.
The 2026 edition also marked a new milestone in the race’s evolution, introducing a refreshed visual identity and strengthening its media presence through live television coverage on A Bola TV, bringing both the competition and the region to thousands of viewers.
Over the course of three road stages, the peloton travelled through several municipalities across the region, once again demonstrating the Anicolor Grand Prix’s ability to connect local communities, showcase their heritage, and promote the scenic and cultural richness of the territories it crosses. The inclusion of Porto de Mós as the starting location of the opening stage was one of the major innovations of this edition, further expanding the event’s regional reach.
The race consisted of three distinct stages, each offering its own characteristics and moments of sporting excitement:
- Stage 1 – Porto de Mós → Oliveira do Bairro (177.8 km)
- The race opened with its longest stage, featuring a demanding and highly contested route. At the finish, Tiago Antunes proved to be the strongest rider, claiming the first victory of the race.
- Stage 2 – Anicolor → Costa Nova, Ílhavo (169.5 km)
- With a profile favouring the sprinters, the second stage concluded with a bunch sprint in Costa Nova, where Iuri Leitão confirmed his status as the favourite, delivering a spectacular finish for the crowds in attendance.
- Stage 3 – Mortágua → Águeda (170.5 km)
- Held on the final day of competition, the closing stage once again proved decisive. Its selective route and demanding climbs created an intense battle for the overall classification, which was only decided in the final kilometres. Alexis Guérin, riding for Anicolor–Campicarn, won the stage and secured the overall victory in the 10th edition of the Anicolor Grand Prix.
Throughout the three-day event, thousands of spectators lined the roads, creating an outstanding atmosphere and reinforcing the region’s strong connection with cycling. This growing public support is one of the clearest indicators of the race’s consolidation and of the positive impact it continues to generate within local communities.
Beyond its competitive dimension, the Anicolor Grand Prix continues to establish itself as an important platform for regional promotion and economic development, showcasing the participating municipalities far beyond their borders and highlighting the very best the region has to offer.
