7º GP Anicolor

A 7th edition of the Grande Prémio Anicolor took place on May 20th and 21st. This edition brought several novelties, including the race being held in two stages over two days and the 3rd Portuguese Paracycling Cup.

On the first day, the competition was intense throughout the 169km route, which started proudly at our facilities in Oiã and passed through various municipalities such as Aveiro, Albergaria-a-Velha, Ílhavo, Vagos, Cantanhede, Mealhada, and Anadia, before reaching the finish line in Águeda.

On Sunday, May 21st, the 2nd Stage took place, featuring a challenging 148.4km route with multiple climbs. It started at the Oliveira do Bairro Parish Council (12:00) and ended again in Águeda (15:32). With four mountain prizes and an intermediate sprint, the demanding course saw several skirmishes at the beginning, but the peloton kept the race under control and only allowed a breakaway to form at the 50km mark. The peloton gradually lost units but managed to catch the two escapees until, with 10km to go and on the last mountain of the day, Luís Mendonça from Glassdrive-Q8-Anicolor made a move and stayed ahead of the race until crossing the finish line, becoming the stage winner and the overall winner of our 7th GP Anicolor.

As the main sponsor of the race, we are delighted to see a cyclist from our team win it for the second consecutive year.

The Grande Prémio Anicolor is a competition that is gaining increasing relevance in the national cycling scene. It is a partnership with Sporting Clube de Fermentelos that we intend to maintain in order to elevate this event to even higher levels.

In the overall team classification, Glassdrive/Q8/Anicolor was the winner.
